UPL Avancer Glow Fungicide: Product Overview

UPL Avancer Glow is a systemic-and-contact foliar fungicide containing Azoxystrobin 8.3% + Mancozeb 66.7% WG (water-dispersible granule). The combination joins a xylem-mobile strobilurin active ingredient with multi-site surface protection from mancozeb.

Government of India recommendations list registered disease uses in grapes, chilli, paddy, potato, tomato, onion and soybean. Every listed conventional application uses 1,500 g formulation per hectare, but crop-specific diseases, water volume and pre-harvest interval differ. Those differences are reproduced below so a generic dose is not mistaken for complete label directions.

The current UPL page also lists pomegranate. Because the public sources reviewed do not provide a complete pomegranate dose-and-water row, that crop is not included in the dosage table. Check the current physical pack and leaflet before using this product, especially when a label has been expanded after an older leaflet was issued.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Avancer Glow?
  • Two complementary actions: Azoxystrobin provides systemic, acropetal movement through the xylem, while mancozeb contributes contact protection on treated surfaces.
  • Broad registered crop scope: the official Indian use table covers important fruit, vegetable, field and oilseed crops, with named diseases rather than an unsupported all-crop claim.
  • Protective and disease-management fit: the combination brings FRAC Group 11 activity together with the multi-site FRAC M03 partner.
  • Clear hectare rate: official recommendations specify 1.5 kg/ha for every crop row reproduced here.
  • UPL crop-protection product: composition, foliar application, systemic-and-contact action and product identity are supported by UPL's current India product page.

Product scienceHow It Works and Resistance Stewardship

Azoxystrobin is a QoI fungicide in FRAC Group 11. It acts at the mitochondrial respiration site and is classified by FRAC as a high-resistance-risk mode of action with cross-resistance expected within Group 11. Mancozeb belongs to FRAC M03, a multi-site dithiocarbamate contact group with generally low resistance risk. Their presence in one formulation does not remove the need for stewardship.

  1. Apply only to a registered crop and disease: match the current label to the intended field situation.
  2. Avoid excessive Group 11 repetition: follow the label and local resistance-management guidance; where another treatment is needed, rotate to a standalone product with a different effective FRAC group and the same registered crop-disease fit.
  3. Do not infer tank compatibility: Related and alternative products on this page are not mixing directions. Never combine products unless the current labels and qualified advice explicitly permit it.

PHI = pre-harvest interval. This table reproduces official conventional-application rows. Do not convert the hectare rate into an assumed tank dose without matching the label's water volume and calibrated sprayer output. A separate chilli drone use exists, but it should be followed only with the current authorized label and compliant equipment.

Useful detailsHow to Apply
  • Mixing: make a slurry with the required quantity and a small amount of clean water. Stir thoroughly, add the remaining water for the required spray volume, and mix again.
  • Method: apply as a foliar spray with equipment that delivers even coverage. The verified older grapes-and-chilli label specifies a high-volume knapsack sprayer and hollow-cone nozzle.
  • Timing: apply on appearance of disease symptoms as directed by the current crop label, preferably in the early morning or evening and during favourable weather. Do not apply at crop maturity or immediately before harvest.
  • Re-entry: the verified older label specifies 24 hours for grapes and chilli. Do not generalize that interval to expanded crops; follow the current crop-specific pack.
Use with careSafety and Storage

Wear protective clothing including long sleeves, long pants and shoes. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and avoid inhaling spray mist. Do not eat, drink or smoke during application. Wash exposed skin, clothing and equipment after use. Store locked in a cool, dry, well-lit and ventilated place, separate from food and household articles.

The official label states that the product is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms; do not use it near water bodies, aquaculture or pisciculture. Do not reuse empty containers. If exposure occurs, follow the label first-aid directions and seek medical help. There is no specific antidote; treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

Disclaimer: Always read and follow the current official product label and leaflet. Use only on registered crops and diseases, observe the listed PHI, and follow local regulations. Product information is educational and does not replace the statutory label or advice from a qualified agriculture professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Avancer Glow systemic or contact?

It combines both. UPL identifies xylem-systemic, acropetal movement from Azoxystrobin with contact activity from Mancozeb.

2. What is the official dose?

The cited Indian use table gives 1,500 g/ha for each conventional crop row above. Water and PHI remain crop-specific.

3. Can I calculate a universal dose per pump?

No. Pump volume, calibrated output and crop canopy differ. Use the hectare rate with the crop-specific water volume and the current label.

4. Can Avancer Glow be mixed with another pesticide?

No compatibility statement is made here. Do not infer a tank mix from recommendations; follow both labels and qualified local advice.

5. Is the 600 g pack a full-hectare dose?

No. The official hectare rate is 1.5 kg. Match the required field area and calibrated spray volume to the label instead of treating one pack as a universal area dose.
