1. Early placement: Atrataf is applied to the prepared field within the labelled pre-emergence window.
2. Uptake by susceptible weeds: the active ingredient is taken up as weeds begin to germinate and establish.
3. Photosystem II inhibition: Atrazine disrupts electron transfer required for photosynthesis in susceptible plants.
4. Reduced early competition: effective control of the listed weeds helps the crop avoid avoidable competition during establishment.

Performance depends on correct soil preparation, suitable moisture, calibrated equipment and uniform coverage. Atrataf is not a remedy for every emerged weed and should not be applied after the labelled window unless the current label specifically permits it.

The official label gives a 24-hour re-entry period after spraying. No numerical pre-harvest interval is stated in this label table. Do not invent one; the current pack label remains controlling.

• Prepare the field: follow crop agronomy and label directions. The spray surface should allow even distribution.
• Measure the hectare area: calculate the required formulation from the labelled crop rate. A 500 g pack is not automatically the dose for one acre.
• Mix safely: dilute the measured product in the required quantity of clean water. Follow the leaflet sequence and maintain agitation.
• Use suitable equipment: the label describes high-volume equipment fitted with a flat-fan or flood-jet nozzle. Calibrate before spraying.
• Apply uniformly: avoid untreated strips, overlaps, drift and runoff. Do not spray during rainy, windy or hot sunny conditions.
• Protect water: avoid use near aquaculture and use special caution where the groundwater level is high, as stated on the label.
• Respect re-entry: keep people and animals out of the treated area for at least 24 hours after spraying.

Repeated reliance on HRAC/WSSA Group 5 herbicides can select resistant weed populations. Combine labelled chemical control with crop rotation, clean seed, timely cultivation and field monitoring. Where another herbicide is needed in a programme, choose it according to the target weed, crop label and a different effective mode of action. Recommendations shown on this page are alternatives for comparison and are not tank-mix directions.

Do not exceed the labelled rate or spray outside the approved crop window. Avoid overlap at headlands. Soil type, moisture and crop condition can change crop selectivity and performance. Seek qualified local advice when the field has unusual soil, irrigation or groundwater conditions.

Wear the protective clothing, gloves, footwear and respiratory protection specified on the label. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin or eyes. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew tobacco while handling. Store locked in the original container away from children, food, feed, heat and flame. Do not reuse the empty pack; dispose of it according to the label and applicable rules.
