IFFCO-MC Atari Herbicide: Product Overview

IFFCO-MC Atari is a selective pre-emergence herbicide containing Atrazine 50% WP. IFFCO-MC lists Atari in its herbicide portfolio, and India's approved Atrazine 50% WP directions cover specified weeds in maize and sugarcane.

Atrazine belongs to the triazine chemical family and is classified as HRAC/WSSA Group 5. It inhibits photosynthesis at Photosystem II. Apply only to the labelled crops, weeds, rate, timing and conditions; do not treat this guide as permission for use on another crop.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Atari Atrazine 50% WP?
  • Label-defined pre-emergence timing: The approved formulation directions place application within three days after sowing or planting.
  • Maize and sugarcane scope: The Indian label lists both crops with specific weed spectra and area-based rates.
  • Selective herbicide: Designed for use in the labelled crops when the complete directions and precautions are followed.
  • Resistance-management identity: HRAC Group 5 classification helps advisers avoid repeatedly relying on the same mode of action.

Product scienceHow Atrazine Works

Atrazine is a Group 5 herbicide that inhibits photosynthetic electron transport at Photosystem II. Susceptible weeds cannot maintain normal photosynthesis and growth. The numerical group identifies the mode of action; it does not expand the crop or weed claims printed on the label.

For resistance stewardship, do not rely repeatedly on Atrazine or another Group 5 herbicide as the only weed-control measure. Use crop rotation, cultural practices and separately labelled herbicides from appropriate different groups under local agronomic guidance.
