Dhanuka Areva Thiamethoxam 25% WG

Dhanuka Areva is a water-dispersible-granule insecticide containing Thiamethoxam 25% WG. It is systemic and belongs to IRAC Group 4A, the neonicotinoid mode-of-action group.

The same formulation has official Indian major-use entries for selected sucking and other pests in several crops. Each entry has its own dose, water volume, application method and pre-harvest interval. Treat the current Areva container label as the final instruction. After a label-approved application, Thiamethoxam can be absorbed by treated plant tissue. Susceptible insects take in the active ingredient while feeding. It then interferes with normal nerve signalling at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. This does not make Areva universal for every sucking pest, crop or application method; only the uses printed on the current label are authorised.

Group 4A products share a resistance risk. Actara, Arrow, Anant and other Thiamethoxam 25% WG products are same-group substitutes, not rotation partners. If a further treatment is required, choose a product from a genuinely different IRAC group only when its own current Indian label covers the same crop and pest. Use alternatives separately; this page makes no tank-mix recommendation.

PHI = pre-harvest interval. These are hectare-based entries from the Government of India formulation-level major-use record. They must agree with the current Areva pack in hand. Re-entry is not stated in that table; do not publish an invented interval. The cumin entry is intentionally withheld until the conflicting 5-day and 15-day PHI records are resolved against the current Areva pack.

  • Identify the pest: confirm the pest species and local threshold instead of spraying only because insects are visible.
  • Match the method: foliar and soil-drench rows are not interchangeable. A dose registered for one method must not be transferred to another.
  • Use the hectare rate: calculate the required product from the treated area and the crop-specific formulation rate. Do not apply one universal grams-per-acre or grams-per-tank figure across all crops.
  • Respect water volume: use the label water volume and calibrated equipment so the intended treatment area receives an even application without run-off or drift.
  • Observe the crop PHI: the waiting period varies widely. Record the date of treatment and harvest only after the label interval has passed.
  • Check re-entry: no re-entry number is stated in the reviewed Government major-use table. Follow the current Areva label and qualified local guidance; do not rely on an invented interval.
How to applyMixing and Application
  1. Read the Areva label and measure the amount required for the exact crop, pest, method and treatment area.
  2. Place a small quantity of clean water in a separate container and disperse the measured granules. Add the slurry to the partly filled spray tank while agitating.
  3. Add the remaining clean water to the crop-specific volume. Keep the mixture agitated and apply promptly with properly calibrated equipment.
  4. Direct the application to the labelled target zone and avoid spray drift, excessive run-off and contamination of wells, ponds, canals or drainage channels.
  5. Rinse equipment only in a permitted area. Handle washings and empty packaging exactly as directed on the label; never reuse a pesticide container.

Compatibility note: no universal compatibility statement is made. Do not create pesticide cocktails. Tank mixing requires explicit current-label support or qualified crop-specific advice.

  • Keep the product in its original labelled container, locked away from children, animals, food, feed and seed.
