ADAMA Apropo Fungicide: Product Overview

A dual-mode Azoxystrobin 7.1% + Propiconazole 11.9% SE fungicide labelled in India for sheath blight control in rice.

ADAMA Apropo combines two fungicide modes of action in a suspo-emulsion formulation. The official Indian package label identifies rice sheath blight as its registered crop-and-disease use. Apply it only to the crop, disease, rate, timing and frequency stated on the current label.

Apropo contains Azoxystrobin, a FRAC Group 11 QoI fungicide, and Propiconazole, a FRAC Group 3 DMI fungicide. This combination acts at two different fungal target sites. It does not eliminate resistance risk, so all Group 11 applications must still be limited and managed according to the label and a locally appropriate disease-management program.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose ADAMA Apropo?
  • Two fungicide modes of action: combines FRAC Groups 11 and 3 in one registered formulation.
  • Label-specific rice use: the Indian label covers sheath blight from the vegetative to reproductive stage.
  • Foliar SE formulation: supplied as a suspo-emulsion that is measured and diluted in clean water before spraying.
  • Clear application guidance: the label specifies 500 ml formulation in 500 L water per hectare, 24-hour re-entry and a 43-day PHI.
  • Practical pack choice: Mana Agri Mart lists 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1 L variants.

Product scienceHow Apropo Works
  1. Azoxystrobin — FRAC 11: inhibits fungal mitochondrial respiration at the Qo site of cytochrome bc1 complex III, reducing the pathogen's ability to produce energy.
  2. Propiconazole — FRAC 3: inhibits C14-demethylase in sterol biosynthesis, disrupting production of ergosterol needed for fungal cell membranes.
  3. Resistance stewardship: FRAC classifies Group 11 fungicides as high resistance risk with cross-resistance within the group. Follow the label's spray limit and use effective, label-approved alternatives from genuinely different cross-resistance groups when planning a sequence.

PHI = pre-harvest interval. The label gives hectare-based product and water rates. Do not replace them with an unverified per-acre or per-litre conversion.

How to applyApplication and Safety
  • Measure the required quantity, mix it thoroughly with clean water and apply as a foliar spray at 500 L/ha using a hand-operated knapsack sprayer with a hollow-cone nozzle.
  • Apply at disease appearance during the vegetative-to-reproductive stage. Prefer early morning or evening, use favourable weather and avoid application during extreme weather, crop maturity or immediately before harvest.
  • Wear full protective clothing while mixing and spraying, avoid inhalation and mouth, skin or eye contact, and do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product.
  • Keep people and animals out of the treated area for at least the stated 24-hour re-entry period.
  • Aquatic caution: the label states that the product is toxic to fish. Prevent spray, surplus liquid and equipment washings from contaminating ponds, aquaculture areas and other water bodies.
  • Do not assume compatibility or recommend a tank mix. Any other product should be selected and applied separately according to its own current Indian label.
  • If exposure occurs, obtain medical advice promptly and show the product label. The label states that no specific antidote is known and treatment is symptomatic.
Use with careSafety Disclaimer

Always read and follow the current official product label and leaflet. Crop, disease, dose, water volume, crop stage, frequency, re-entry and PHI must match the label. This page is a product-identification and buying guide and does not replace professional agronomic or medical advice.
