Syngenta Ampligo Insecticide Overview

Ampligo is a Syngenta foliar insecticide combining Chlorantraniliprole 9.3% w/w and Lambda-Cyhalothrin 4.6% w/w in a ZC formulation. The combination provides rapid knockdown together with longer-lasting activity against label-listed pests.

Syngenta describes Ampligo as a broad-spectrum product with ovi-larvicidal activity and action across several insect life stages. Chlorantraniliprole targets insect ryanodine receptors, while Lambda-Cyhalothrin affects insect sodium channels. These distinct modes of action make accurate crop, pest, rate and timing selection essential.

Use restriction: Apply only to the crop-pest combinations on the current Indian label. The dosage and pre-harvest interval differ substantially by crop; a general “vegetable” or per-litre dose is not appropriate.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Ampligo?
  • Dual-active formulation: Combines an anthranilic diamide with a pyrethroid in one registered ZC insecticide.
  • Two target-site groups: Chlorantraniliprole is IRAC Group 28 and Lambda-Cyhalothrin is IRAC Group 3A.
  • Knockdown plus extended activity: Syngenta positions the product for rapid pest knockdown and longer-duration control through Zeon technology.
  • Ovi-larvicidal performance: Official Syngenta information highlights activity on eggs and larvae, helping check pest development when applied at the correct stage.
  • Six registered crop groups: The Indian use table includes pigeon pea, cotton, brinjal, okra, rice and soybean with crop-specific directions.

Product scienceHow Ampligo Works
  1. Group 28 action: Chlorantraniliprole activates insect ryanodine receptors, disrupting calcium regulation in muscle cells and stopping normal movement and feeding.
  2. Group 3A action: Lambda-Cyhalothrin acts on voltage-gated sodium channels and supplies rapid contact knockdown.
  3. Combined field effect: The ZC formulation brings the two active ingredients together for registered foliar uses. It does not eliminate the need for resistance management.
How to applyRegistered Crops, Pests, Dose and PHI

The golden rule: Match the crop, target pest, dose and waiting period exactly. The hectare values below are from the Indian registered-use table; approximate acre equivalents are included for practical reference.

PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval: the minimum waiting period between the final application and harvest. The current pack label is controlling.

How to applyApplication and Resistance Best Practices
  • Timing and frequency: Make the first spray at pest initiation or the economic-threshold stage. If severity requires and the label permits, repeat once after 10–15 days; do not exceed two sprays.
  • Measure accurately: Use calibrated equipment and the crop-specific formulation rate and water volume shown above.
  • Obtain even coverage: Direct foliar spray to the crop canopy while minimizing drift and run-off.
  • Rotate modes of action: Do not repeatedly rely on Ampligo or another Group 28/3A product. Rotate to an effective label-approved product from different IRAC groups in a later spray window.
  • Do not tank mix: The registered label says Ampligo should not be applied in a tank mix with any other chemical. Recommendations on this page are standalone alternatives only.
  • Re-entry: Keep people and livestock out of the treated area for at least 24 hours after spraying. If the supplied pack specifies a longer interval, follow the longer interval.
Use with careSafety and Disclaimer
