Amora Herbicide by Crystal Crop Protection

Quizalofop ethyl 3% + fomesafen 12% SC for specified grass and broadleaf weeds in soybean.

What it controls: The listed grasses and broadleaf weeds in soybean.

When to use it: At the 2–4 leaf stage of the weeds, not the soybean crop.

What to include: The exact SC formulation and current-pack method, water and harvest directions.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🌾Grass-weed coverage: The manufacturer list includes jungle rice, barnyard grass, Bermuda grass and Johnson grass.
  • 🌿Broadleaf-weed coverage: Its soybean scope also includes congress grass, pigweed, false amaranth and specified spurges.
  • 🍃Dayflower included: Bengal dayflower is listed alongside the other specified soybean weeds.
  • 🔀Two different modes of action: The two ingredients interfere with different processes in susceptible weeds.
  • 🌱An early-weed option: The stated 2–4 weed-leaf window helps match treatment planning to weed growth rather than a fixed calendar date.

How It Works: Mode of Action

Amora combines two herbicide ingredients. Their different actions support the listed mixed-weed scope; this does not mean every weed species is controlled.

  1. Grass growth is disrupted: Quizalofop ethyl blocks production of fatty acids needed for new cells in susceptible grasses.
  2. Weed-cell protection is disrupted: Fomesafen blocks a different enzyme involved in making important plant pigments.
  3. Susceptible weeds are damaged: These disruptions stop normal growth and damage weed tissues. Do not judge control from leaf colour alone or increase the dose to speed it up.

Use suitable alternatives with different mode-of-action groups as part of crop-specific resistance management. A different brand name is not necessarily a different mode of action.

Target Crops & Pests

Crop Target Pest(s)
Soybean

Grasses

  • Jungle rice (Echinochloa colona)
  • Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli)
  • Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon)
  • Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense)

Broadleaf weeds and dayflower

  • Congress grass (Parthenium hysterophorus)
  • Wild cucumber species (Cucumis spp.)
  • Green pigweed (Amaranthus viridis)
  • Bengal dayflower (Commelina benghalensis)
  • False amaranth (Digera arvensis)
  • Hairy spurge (Euphorbia hirta)
  • Wild poinsettia (Euphorbia geniculata)
  • Cockscomb (Celosia argentea)

The current manufacturer list is specific to soybean. Do not extend it to groundnut or other crops.

Dosage & Application Guide

The first row is Crystal’s published Amora rate. The second is a separate CIBRC formulation reference for jungle rice only, the weed shared by the manufacturer list and that reference. Neither row is a complete application programme without current-pack directions.

Dosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)

Crop Dose (ml / Acre) Water (L / Acre) Dose (ml / Litre) PHI (Days)
Soybean: manufacturer rate 600 See note* See note* See note*
Soybean: jungle rice reference Approx. 607.0
1,500 ml/ha
Approx. 202.3
500 L/ha
See note* 71

The reference row is not an additional treatment and must not be combined with the 600 ml/acre row. It does not establish water or harvest directions for the other manufacturer-listed weeds.

*Confirm the current Amora pack’s application method, water volume, waiting period and repeat-treatment limits before use. No separate per-litre rate is supplied here. PHI means the minimum time from the last treatment to harvest; 71 days belongs only to the qualified formulation reference.

Acre figures in the reference row are approximate conversions; the original hectare quantities remain shown.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Check the weed: Identify the weed and use only the soybean programme on the supplied Amora label.
  • Count weed leaves: Crystal states the 2–4 leaf stage of the weeds. Do not interpret this as 2–4 soybean leaves or a fixed number of days after sowing.
  • Confirm the complete method: Use only the application route, nozzle, spray coverage and mixing sequence on the current Amora pack. The rate alone does not supply these instructions.
  • Plan the water and harvest interval: Do not transfer the jungle-rice formulation reference to all the weeds listed above. Obtain the crop-and-weed directions for the exact pack.
  • Avoid unapproved additions: Do not add another herbicide, insecticide, fertilizer or spray additive unless the applicable labels permit the combination.
  • Review the field: Include non-chemical weed management and suitable different-group herbicides in a planned programme. Follow the pack before any repeat treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Amora only a grass herbicide? No. Crystal lists grasses, broadleaf weeds and Bengal dayflower for soybean. Check the exact weed list rather than assuming control of every weed.

Does the 2–4 leaf stage refer to soybean? No. It refers to the weeds. Use the current pack to check the complete application conditions.

Why are 600 ml/acre and approximately 607 ml/acre shown separately?600 ml/acre is Crystal’s published brand rate. Approximately 607 ml/acre is the conversion of a separate 1,500 ml/ha CIBRC formulation reference. They are not two treatments to add together.

Can I use the reference water and 71-day interval for every listed weed? No. The qualified reference here is limited to jungle rice. Confirm the current pack’s complete water and harvest requirements for the actual weed being treated.

Can I use Amora on groundnut or mix it with another herbicide? This description supports soybean only. Do not extend the crop use or add a tank partner without the exact current label permitting it.
