Nichino Allfall Buprofezin 25% SC Insect Growth Regulator

Allfall is a suspension-concentrate insect growth regulator containing Buprofezin 25% w/w.

Buprofezin is an IRAC Group 16 inhibitor of chitin biosynthesis, type 1. It disrupts moulting in susceptible immature pest stages and is generally slow to moderately slow acting, so Allfall should not be described or expected as an instant adult knockdown insecticide. Apply early at first pest appearance and use only on the registered crops and targets listed on the current Indian label.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Allfall?
  • Growth-regulator action: Inhibits chitin formation and moulting in susceptible immature stages.
  • Registered crop scope: Label uses cover specified pests in rice, cotton, chilli, mango and grapes.
  • Targeted timing: Best positioned early, when susceptible nymphs or other immature stages are present.
  • Resistance-planning option: Group 16 can be used within a planned rotation with separately registered products from different IRAC groups.
  • SC formulation: A liquid suspension concentrate designed for dilution and foliar application at crop-specific label rates.

Product scienceHow It Works

Buprofezin interferes with chitin biosynthesis during cuticle formation. Susceptible immature insects cannot complete normal moulting, so population reduction develops after growth is disrupted. Because this mode of action is focused on immature stages, correct scouting and early timing are more important than looking for immediate adult knockdown.

  1. Contact with treated crop: Susceptible pests encounter residues on well-covered foliage.
  2. Chitin disruption: Group 16 action interferes with formation of the new cuticle.
  3. Moulting failure: Immature stages fail to develop normally, reducing the developing pest population.
How to applyRegistered Crops, Targets & Dosage

Use the crop-specific rate, water volume and waiting period. Cotton mealybug has a separate rate from the other listed cotton sucking pests.

CropRegistered TargetFormulation DoseWaterPHI

ChilliYellow mite0.3–0.6 L/ha (120–240 ml/acre)500–750 L/ha5 days

PHI is the minimum interval between the last application and harvest. Follow the current Allfall pack label if it is more restrictive.

How to applyTiming & Application
  • Scout first: Apply at first pest appearance while susceptible immature stages are present.
  • Crop timing: The PPQS label places rice, cotton and chilli use at 40–80 days after sowing or transplanting, and mango/grape use from flowering to fruiting.
  • Spray count: The label provides 2–3 foliar sprays depending on pest pressure. Do not exceed the current label.
  • Coverage: Use calibrated equipment and the stated water volume for uniform coverage, including lower foliage where plant hoppers occur.
  • No tank-mix recommendation: Use Allfall as directed on its own label. If another intervention is required, select a separately registered alternative and follow that product's label.
Useful detailsResistance Management

Do not expose successive pest generations repeatedly to IRAC Group 16. Use the full label rate and correct timing, integrate field sanitation and biological/cultural controls, and rotate—rather than mix—with a separately registered insecticide from a different effective IRAC group. Do not automatically respray surviving patches with another Group 16 product.

Use with careSafety & Environmental Care

Read the current label before use. Wear protective clothing, gloves, mask and eye protection; avoid breathing spray mist and do not eat, drink, smoke or chew during application. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing afterward. Keep away from fish ponds, aquaculture, drains and waterways because Buprofezin is toxic to aquatic organisms. For inhalation move to fresh air; wash skin with soap and water; rinse eyes for at least 15 minutes. Do not induce vomiting unless directed by a physician. There is no specific antidote; treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Store in the original sealed container away from children, food and feed.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Allfall an instant knockdown insecticide?

No. It is an insect growth regulator that disrupts moulting in immature stages, so visible population reduction is not immediate.

2. What is the rice rate?

The registered dose is 0.8 L/ha; Nichino states a rounded field rate of 320 ml/acre. Use 400–500 L water/ha and observe a 20-day PHI.

3. Can one cotton rate cover every listed cotton pest?

No. Cotton mealybug is registered at 1.25 L/ha, while whiteflies, aphids, jassids and thrips use 1.0 L/ha.

4. What is the re-entry interval?

Keep people out of the treated area for 24 hours.

5. Can Allfall be used on unlisted vegetables?

Only use it on crops and targets shown on the current approved label; broad vegetable-crop use is not stated here.
