Bayer Alion Plus Indaziflam + Glyphosate SC Herbicide
Bayer Alion Plus is a combination herbicide containing Indaziflam 1.65% w/w (2% w/v) and Glyphosate Isopropylammonium 44.63% w/w (40% w/v) in an SC formulation. Bayer presents it for foliar and soil/pre-emergence weed-control activity in tea and grapes. The Government of India's cited Major Uses table provides a complete direction row only for tea, so grape directions must come from the current physical Indian label rather than from the tea table.
The two active ingredients have different modes of action. Indaziflam inhibits cellulose synthesis and has soil activity that can prevent weed germination and emergence. Glyphosate is a non-selective systemic herbicide that inhibits EPSPS, an enzyme needed for aromatic amino-acid synthesis. Because the Glyphosate component is non-selective, spray placement and drift control are important around green crop tissue and other desirable plants.
