Alika 40 ml - Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC - Syngenta
Alika 40 ml Insecticide by
Syngenta
Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC for the
specified sucking and chewing pests.
What it controls: Crop-specific aphids, hoppers, thrips, borers, caterpillars and other pests in
the seven crops below.
When to start: When the target pest reaches the economic threshold, the level at which treatment
is justified.
Flowering restriction: Do not spray from 5 days before flowering begins until flowering
ends.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
-
⚡ Contact and feeding action: Acts on
susceptible insects that touch the treatment or ingest it while feeding.
-
🌿 Cotton pest control: Targets aphids,
jassids, thrips and bollworms in cotton.
-
🍃 Tea pest control: Targets tea mosquito
bug, thrips and semilooper in tea, with a separate tea water requirement.

modulators. |
| Chemical Group |
Neonicotinoid (thiamethoxam) + pyrethroid (lambda-cyhalothrin). |

ZC — combination liquid formulation, diluted in water for the labelled crop spray. |
| Toxicity Label |
Poison / Highly Toxic. Toxic to bees. |
How It Works: Mode of Action
Both ingredients disrupt insect nerve signals, but at different points in the signalling
system.
-
Exposure: Insects encounter the treatment through contact or feeding on treated material.
-
Thiamethoxam: Interferes with nerve-signal receptors. It belongs to IRAC Group 4A.
-
Lambda-cyhalothrin: Disrupts sodium channels, small pathways that help carry nerve impulses. It belongs to IRAC Group 3A.
Count both Groups 4A and 3A when planning later treatments. A different brand containing either
group is not automatically a different mode of action.

Acre values are approximate conversions of the original hectare rates. PHI is the minimum time
from the last application to harvest; it is not a repeat-spray or worker re-entry interval.
How to Apply: Best Practices
-
Check pests and flowering: Assess the target pest against its crop-specific economic threshold. Observe the flowering ban even if
pests are present.
-
Prepare with agitation: Mix the measured product with a small quantity of water, then add the remaining crop-specific water with
thorough agitation.
-
Cover the crop: Use a suitable calibrated sprayer for total crop coverage. Tea requires 400 L/ha; the other six crops require 500
L/ha.
-
Protect bees: Do not spray during active bee foraging or where a high amount of aphid honeydew is present. Prevent drift onto
flowering weeds, hedges and nearby crops.
-
Use fresh spray: Do not store unused spray solution. Clean sprayers, buckets and other utensils with water after use, keeping
washings out of waterways.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the dose the same for all seven crops?
No. Cotton uses 200 ml/ha; chilli and tea use 150 ml/ha; maize, groundnut, soybean and tomato use 125 ml/ha.
Keep each quantity with its crop, water volume and harvest interval.
2. Can I spray while the crop is flowering?
No. Do not spray from 5 days before flowering starts until it ends. Spraying at a cooler hour does not
cancel this restriction or the restrictions on bee activity and aphid honeydew.
3. Can I use one fixed quantity in every tank?
Tank capacity alone does not tell you the area treated. Calibrate the sprayer and measure product and water
for the same area.
4. When can I harvest?
Count the PHI from the last application: cotton 26 days, maize 42, groundnut 28, soybean 48, chilli 3, tea 7
and tomato 5.
5. Can I mix Alika with another pesticide?
Only combine Alika with another product when both current labels permit the proposed mixture. Alika already
contains two active ingredients; that does not establish compatibility with another product.
Safety & Disclaimer
Before you use it: Read the supplied Alika label and leaflet. Alika is highly toxic and poisonous. Wear
gloves, protective clothing, a mask, goggles and boots. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, inhalation and spray drift. Do not
use cooking utensils, stir with bare hands or blow a blocked nozzle with your mouth.
Do not eat, drink or smoke during handling. Wash hands and exposed skin with soap and water after work,
change clothing and wash contaminated clothing. Keep the original container locked away from children, food, feed and
household articles in a dry, well-ventilated storage area.
Protect bees by observing all flowering, honeydew and active-foraging restrictions above. Keep spray,
leftovers, empty containers and equipment washings out of rivers, lakes, ponds, ditches and other waterways. Do not reuse
empty containers; follow the pack and local disposal requirements.
If exposure or suspected poisoning occurs, stop work and seek medical attention immediately with the
product label. After inhalation, move to fresh air. Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected skin with soap and water.
Rinse affected eyes with clean water for several minutes. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person. Treatment must be directed by a medical professional.
