Fipronil interferes with GABA-gated chloride channels in the insect nervous system. Susceptible pests exposed through contact with treated surfaces or through feeding become unable to regulate normal nerve signalling. Repeated use of a single mode-of-action group can select resistant insect populations. Do not rely on Ahead for every generation. Rotate with effective products from a different IRAC group that are registered for the same crop and pest, and follow local integrated pest-management advice. PHI means the minimum interval between the last application and harvest. Do not calculate a per-acre or per-litre dose without following the exact water volume and directions on the current label.
