AgroStar MetalGRO (Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP) 250 g
MetalGRO Fungicide by AgroStar | 250
g
MetalGRO combines systemic metalaxyl and contact mancozeb in
a wettable-powder fungicide for the crop–disease pairs listed below. Crop-specific spray and drench directions must not be treated
as interchangeable. This listing is the 250 g pack.
What it protects: Labelled disease targets in grapes, mustard, pearl millet,
potato, tobacco nursery and black pepper.
Two modes of action: Metalaxyl is FRAC Group 4; mancozeb is the multi-site Group
M03. The combination does not guarantee control of resistant disease populations.
Before application: Confirm the complete crop-specific dose, water, route,
first-treatment timing and harvest interval before measuring or mixing.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
-
🛡️ Systemic plus contact action: Metalaxyl
and mancozeb provide different fungicidal modes of action in one WP formulation.
-
🎯 Defined disease targets: Each crop is
paired with its exact leaflet disease rather than an all-crop claim.
-
🌿 Crop-specific planning: Spray and nursery
or vine drench uses require their own complete directions and harvest restrictions.

How It Works: Mode of Action
MetalGRO contains a systemic phenylamide fungicide and a contact
multi-site fungicide. Its preventive and curative description does not supply a crop-specific first-treatment trigger or a guaranteed
period of control.
-
Metalaxyl: FRAC 4: A phenylamide fungicide that inhibits RNA synthesis through RNA polymerase I activity in susceptible
pathogens.
-
Mancozeb: FRAC M03: A dithiocarbamate fungicide with multi-site contact activity.
-
Resistance planning: The leaflet warns that metalaxyl-resistant strains can develop and reduce control. Plan use with a qualified
crop adviser; switching brands with the same mode of action does not remove resistance risk.
Use only the listed crop–disease pairs. Do not extend the
programme to guava, jowar (sorghum) or tapioca: India’s published restriction lists mancozeb use as banned on those crops. Pearl
millet (bajra) is not jowar.
Target Crops & Diseases
Use only the crop and target pairs specified in the product
leaflet. Match the formulation and application route before treatment.

Dosage & Application Guide
Use the current supplied MetalGRO directions and qualified crop
advice to establish the complete treatment programme before mixing. A retail dose alone is not enough to determine the first
application, water volume or correct route.
Application Requirements
Crop and route: Confirm the complete product quantity,
water volume, treated area or per-vine basis, and whether the use is a spray or drench. Do not substitute a black-pepper vine drench
for a foliar spray or a nursery treatment.
First treatment and repeats: Confirm the first-treatment
trigger for each crop. Preventive or curative activity and a statement that frequency depends on disease severity do not establish a
first-treatment schedule or fixed repeat interval.
Specific nursery timing: For tobacco nursery leaf blight
and black shank, the leaflet specifies soil drenching at sowing and spraying 30 days after sowing. This timing does not supply a
complete mixing recipe; confirm its quantity, treatment-area basis and water before use. Do not extend it to the separate damping-off
row.
Harvest intervals: The leaflet states at least 7 weeks
after the last spray for grapes, pearl millet, potato and tobacco nursery; at least 8 weeks for mustard; and at least 21 weeks for
black pepper. Keep these crop-specific intervals separate from any claimed duration of effect.
Worker entry and measuring: The leaflet does not give a
numerical re-entry interval. Follow the current supplied pack and protective-entry directions; do not assume immediate access. Pack
weight is not an acre dose, and no universal per-litre or tank recipe is implied.
How to Apply: Best Practices
-
Identify the crop and disease: Use the listed crop–disease pair only. Confirm the diagnosis and the current supplied-label
programme with a qualified adviser before preparing product.
-
Resolve the complete programme: Check dose basis, water, spray or drench route, positive first timing, any repeat limits and the
long crop-specific harvest interval. Do not calculate from a different brand or a different metalaxyl formulation.
-
Prepare only as directed: The leaflet describes premixing the measured product with a small quantity of water, then adding the
remaining specified water with thorough agitation. Use suitable calibrated, dedicated application equipment and the confirmed
crop-specific route. Never clear a nozzle with your mouth.
-
Keep nursery uses separate: The leaf-blight and black-shank nursery timing is at sowing for drenching and 30 days after sowing for
spraying. Do not infer that all tobacco disease uses share that sequence.
-
Check compatibility: The leaflet excludes lime sulphur. Its broader compatibility statement is not approval of every pesticide,
fertiliser or adjuvant mixture; confirm the exact partner and both current labels.
-
Protect bees and water: Do not spray when bees are active. Prevent product, surplus spray, runoff and equipment washings from
entering ponds, streams, drains or other water sources.
-
Record treatment and harvest: Record crop, disease, treatment date and the applicable minimum harvest interval. Follow separate
worker-entry requirements. Do not store unused spray solution or use food utensils for preparation.
Frequently Asked Questions
MetalGRO is metalaxyl 8% + mancozeb 64% WP. A similar name, another brand, metalaxyl-M or a different concentration does not establish the same programme. Match the exact formulation, crop, disease and route.
No. Use only the specific crop–disease pairs listed here and in the supplied leaflet. Mancozeb use is restricted in India on guava, jowar (sorghum) and tapioca; do not extend this product to those crops. Bajra is pearl millet, not jowar.
No. Spray and drench uses are crop-specific. Tobacco nursery leaf blight and black shank have a stated at-sowing drench and 30-days-after-sowing spray timing, while black pepper also has vine-based directions. Obtain the complete matching recipe before treatment.
No. The pack weight is the sale quantity. Confirm the crop-specific product, water, area or vine basis and first timing before calculating quantity. Do not borrow a retail concentration or another brand’s tank dose.
No. A duration-of-effect claim is not a harvest interval. The leaflet gives minimum harvest intervals of 7 weeks for grapes, pearl millet, potato and tobacco nursery; 8 weeks for mustard; and 21 weeks for black pepper. The leaflet excludes lime sulphur from its compatibility statement.
Safety & Disclaimer
Before you use it: Read the current supplied pack label and leaflet. Match the crop, target,
formulation, product quantity, treatment basis, method, first-treatment timing and applicable harvest and entry restrictions.
Use only as directed for agriculture. This overview does not replace the label or authenticate an individual
pack.
