AgroStar Agloro Insecticide - 250 ml

Agloro contains chlorpyriphos 20% EC, an emulsifiable-concentrate insecticide with contact and stomach action. This listing is the 250 ml pack.

What it targets: The crop-specific insects listed below, including certain borers, aphids and other pests.

When to use it: Only for an allowed crop and target, following the current pack’s treatment directions.

Important crop restriction: Do not use chlorpyriphos on ber, citrus or tobacco in India.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🎯  Contact action: Acts through contact with susceptible target insects.
  • 🌿  Stomach action: Also acts when susceptible target insects ingest treated material.
  • 🔬  Defined mode of action: Chlorpyriphos belongs to IRAC Group 1B, helping you identify its place in a resistance-management plan.

How It Works: Mode of Action

Agloro acts on the insect’s nervous system. Its contact and stomach action describe how the insect is exposed; they do not make every crop, pest or application method suitable.

  1. Contact exposure: The insecticide acts when a susceptible insect comes into contact with it.
  2. Stomach exposure: Ingestion of treated material provides another route of action against susceptible insects.
  3. Nerve action: Chlorpyriphos inhibits acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme involved in normal nerve signalling. IRAC classifies it in Group 1B.

Changing the brand name alone does not change the mode-of-action group. Plan rotations with effective products from different main IRAC groups and suitable non-chemical measures with a qualified crop adviser. Do not assume a fixed control period or guaranteed prevention of pest return.

Target Crops & Pests

The following crop-target pairs appear in the Agloro leaflet. This is an identification guide, not a complete treatment schedule. Match the exact crop and pest to the current pack before use.

Crop
Target Pest(s)
Apple
  • Aphid
Beans
  • Pod borer
  • Black bug
Brinjal
  • Shoot and fruit borer
Cabbage
  • Diamondback moth
Cotton
  • Aphid
  • Bollworm
  • Whitefly
  • Cutworm
Onion
  • Root grub
Paddy
  • Hispa
  • Leaf roller
  • Gall midge
  • Stem borer
  • Whorl maggot

Restricted crops: Chlorpyriphos must not be used on ber, citrus or tobacco in India. A crop appearing on an older advertisement does not override this restriction.

Dosage & Application Guide

Choose the treatment from the current pack’s crop-specific directions, not from the bottle size or a general chlorpyriphos recipe. Match the product quantity, water volume, application method and timing as one set of instructions.

Application Requirements

Product and water quantities: The 250 ml pack is not a fixed one-acre or one-pump dose. Do not turn an area-based rate into a per-litre recipe without the matching labelled water volume and calibrated treatment area.

Harvest and re-entry: PHI is the waiting time between the final treatment and harvest. Re-entry is the separate waiting time before people return to the treated area. Confirm both for the intended use before treatment; do not assume immediate harvest or unrestricted entry.

Timing and repeats: Use only the timing, repeat interval and maximum application count applicable to the exact treatment. If any direction is unclear, ask AgroStar or a qualified crop adviser before mixing or applying.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Check the identity: Match Agloro and chlorpyriphos 20% EC on the container. Read the current pack label and leaflet, including crop restrictions, before opening it.
  • Keep the treatment specific: Use the directions for the exact crop and target. Do not transfer a foliar-spray method to seed, soil or building treatments.
  • Prepare the equipment: Use the equipment specified for the intended treatment. The leaflet lists knapsack, foot, compression-knapsack, compression-knapsack battery and ASPEE-HTP power sprayers; this list is not a treatment recipe.
  • Protect yourself: Wear the label-specified protective equipment. Avoid breathing spray or getting product on skin or in eyes. Do not spray against the wind.
  • Protect bees, birds and water: Do not spray during bee foraging or use near bird habitat, water bodies, aquaculture or pisciculture. Prevent spray and washings from contaminating water.
  • Check any mixture: Add a sticker, fertiliser or another pesticide only when the exact mixture is supported by the current labels and qualified crop-specific advice. A jar test does not establish crop safety or approval.
  • Respect safety intervals: Follow the crop-specific harvest and re-entry requirements and all repeat-treatment limits. Keep children, animals and unprotected people away.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the 250 ml pack a one-acre dose?
No. Pack size is the amount in the container, not an application rate. The quantity needed depends on the exact labelled treatment and measured area.
2. Can Agloro be used on ber, citrus or tobacco?
No. Chlorpyriphos use on these crops is prohibited in India. Do not follow an older crop list that includes them.
3. Does Agloro treat crop diseases?
Agloro is an insecticide, not a fungicide. Do not plan its application according to disease severity.
4. Is every treatment in the leaflet a foliar spray?
No. Different treatment routes have different directions. Do not use crop-spray directions for seed, soil or building treatment; obtain the exact instructions for the intended use.
5. Can I add a sticker or another pesticide?
Do not assume blanket compatibility. Use a mixture only when the current labels and qualified crop-specific advice support the exact combination.
