ADAMA Agil Propaquizafop 10% EC Herbicide

• Selective grass control: Intended for labelled grassy weeds in registered broadleaf crops.
• Systemic movement: Absorbed by foliage and translocated towards active growing points.

Propaquizafop inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase), an enzyme needed by susceptible grasses to produce fatty acids for new growth. After foliar absorption, the active ingredient moves within the weed to growing tissues in leaves and roots. Growth is disrupted and susceptible grasses progressively decline. Visible response varies with weed species, growth stage, weather and application quality.

Because repeated use of the same mode of action can select resistant weeds, rotate with non-Group 1 weed-management methods permitted for the crop. Do not assume that a different brand name means a different resistance group.

Apply once at the 2–4 leaf stage of the target weeds for the label uses shown above. PHI means the minimum interval between the last application and harvest. Do not convert these rates to per-litre doses without using the label-specified spray volume.

ADAMA also lists Agil for crops including chickpea, chilli, cluster bean, cotton, groundnut, jute, sesamum and tomato. Use these crops only according to the current Agil pack leaflet because crop-specific directions, rates and waiting periods can differ.

• Timing: Treat young, actively growing grasses at the label-recommended crop timing. Avoid application during rain, strong wind or hot sunny conditions.
• Mixing: Add the measured product to clean water as directed on the label and maintain uniform spray agitation. Do not tank mix unless every companion label permits it.
• Coverage: Calibrate the sprayer and provide even coverage of weed foliage without drift onto neighbouring crops or water bodies.
• Rain: ADAMA states that rainfall one hour after application does not affect activity; follow the current pack label if its direction differs.
• Re-entry: Keep people and animals out of the treated area for at least 24 hours or for the longer interval stated on the current label.

Wear protective clothing, gloves and a mask; avoid contact with skin, eyes and mouth and avoid breathing spray mist. Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product. Wash exposed skin and equipment after use. Keep the product in its original container away from children, food, feed and water. Agil is toxic to fish; do not contaminate ponds, waterways or aquaculture. If exposure occurs, seek medical attention and show the product label.
