1. Foliar contact: Spray droplets contact exposed foliage of susceptible weeds; good coverage is important because movement within the plant is limited.
2. PPO inhibition: Carfentrazone-Ethyl blocks an enzyme involved in chlorophyll production, causing light-activated compounds to accumulate.
3. Membrane disruption: Treated cells lose membrane integrity, leading to rapid spotting, drying and burn-down of susceptible tissue.

This is contact action, not the systemic ALS-inhibitor action associated with some overseas products that also use the Affinity name.

• Timing: Spray only within the crop-specific window and when label-listed weeds are young and actively growing.
• Coverage: Use properly calibrated equipment and the registered water volume to cover exposed weed foliage evenly.
• Mixing: Follow the sequence and agitation directions on the supplied label. Do not assume compatibility with another herbicide, fertiliser or adjuvant.
• Drift: Prevent spray from reaching nearby crops, water bodies and non-target vegetation.
• Weather: Do not spray in strong wind or when rainfall, temperature or crop stress conflicts with label directions.

Repeated use of one mode of action can select resistant weeds. Identify the weed correctly and combine label-compliant cultural, mechanical and chemical practices. Rotate effective herbicide groups only where each product label permits the crop, weed and timing. Do not exceed the registered dose or number of applications.
