Bayer Admire Imidacloprid 70% WG Systemic Insecticide

Bayer Admire is a systemic insecticide containing Imidacloprid 70% in a water-dispersible-granule formulation. Its verified Indian crop-use rows cover selected sucking pests in cotton, rice, okra, cucumber, tomato and potato. The target pest, dose, water volume and waiting period are crop-specific; “sucking pest control” must not be treated as permission for every crop or insect.

IRAC places Imidacloprid in Group 4A, the neonicotinoid nicotinic acetylcholine receptor competitive modulators. Bayer explains that Imidacloprid disrupts signal transmission in the insect central nervous system, producing nerve excitation, nervous-system disorder and eventual death. Group 4A classification helps resistance planning, but it does not guarantee performance against a resistant population.

  • Identify the crop and target pest before selecting Admire; do not apply it as a general-purpose insecticide.
  • Measure the current label rate accurately and calibrate equipment for its label-directed water volume and uniform coverage.
  • Do not derive a per-acre, per-litre, spray-pump or tank rate from the hectare values on this page.
  • Do not make repeated Group 4A treatments the default. IRAC advises avoiding treatment of successive pest generations with the same mode-of-action group.
  • A later treatment, if needed, must be independently registered for the same crop and pest and selected under current label, resistance and local agronomic advice.
