Item description
Perpendi Herbicide by AgroStar | 250 ml
Perpendi is a selective pre-emergence herbicide containing pendimethalin 30% EC for the specified grasses and broadleaf weeds. Its crop-specific spray and soil-incorporation directions are different from Perpendi Xtra 38.7% CS. This listing is the 250 ml pack.
What it controls: The paired weeds below in chilli, cotton, groundnut, onion, pigeon pea, rice, soybean and wheat. Keep the rice establishment methods separate.
When to use it: Treat before weed emergence. Cotton, soybean, onion and pigeon pea have different planting-stage directions; use the matching programme below.
What to include: The correct measured product and spray water for the actual area, suitable spraying equipment and protective clothing. Use Perpendi as a single chemical.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
- 🌱 Early weed management: Used before weed emergence against the listed annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds.
- 🎯 Crop-specific uses: Keeps each crop and weed set linked to its own use directions, rather than relying on one blanket rate.
- 🧪 30% EC identity: The emulsifiable concentrate is distinct from the 38.7% capsule-suspension formulation; their rates are not interchangeable.

How It Works: Mode of Action
Pendimethalin belongs to HRAC Group 3. It disrupts microtubule assembly involved in cell division and early weed growth.
- Early growth inhibition: Interferes with the development of susceptible weeds as they germinate, which is why the specified pre-emergence stage matters.
- Even soil treatment: Apply evenly over the intended soil area. Avoid missed strips and excessive overlap; a higher rate elsewhere does not correct uneven coverage.
- Crop-specific placement: Use soil incorporation only where the crop directions specify it. Cotton and soybean options must not be transferred automatically to other crops.
Plan resistance management using HRAC Group 3 and integrated weed control. Perpendi Xtra also contains pendimethalin, so changing between EC and CS does not change the mode of action. Do not increase the rate to compensate for using the wrong crop or weed stage.
Target Crops & Weeds
The table preserves the crop and weed groupings, including the separate rice entries. A listed crop is not permission to borrow another crop’s rate, harvest interval, planting method or water management.

Dosage & Application Guide
These numerical rows apply only to cotton, onion, pigeon pea and soybean, with their matching weed sets above and crop-specific first-application directions below. Rates are product volume, not active-ingredient weight.
Dosage per Acre & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
| Crop | Product / Acre | Water / Acre | Original Label Basis | PHI (Days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton | Approx. 1,012–1,686 ml | Approx. 202–283 L | 2.5–4.165 L product + 500–700 L water per hectare | 150 |
| Onion | Approx. 1,012–1,335 ml | Approx. 202–283 L | 2.5–3.30 L product + 500–700 L water per hectare | 15 |
| Pigeon pea | Approx. 1,012–1,348 ml | Approx. 202 L | 2.5–3.33 L product + 500 L water per hectare | 133 |
| Soybean | Approx. 1,012–1,335 ml | Approx. 202–283 L | 2.5–3.3 L product + 500–700 L water per hectare | 110 |
Cotton method and first timing: Use pre-plant incorporation up to 7 days before planting, or pre-emergence treatment within 2 days of sowing. Keep either option paired with the cotton product, water and 150-day harvest interval.
Onion method and first timing: Apply before weed emergence, after transplanting or sowing. Do not import Perpendi Xtra’s transplanted-onion timing or another product’s nursery instructions.
Pigeon pea method and first timing: Apply before weed emergence, 0–2 days after planting or sowing. Use the pigeon pea water volume and 133-day harvest interval, not the soybean figures.
Soybean method and first timing: Apply before weed emergence within 24 hours of planting, or use pre-plant incorporation into the top 2–5 cm of soil with suitable farm equipment.
Other listed crops: For chilli, groundnut, wheat and each rice establishment method, obtain the complete exact-crop product, water, route, first-timing and harvest directions before treatment. Do not borrow a numerical row from the four programmes above.
Units and waiting periods: Acre values are approximate conversions using 1 acre = 0.40468564224 hectare; original hectare rates are retained in each row. PHI is the minimum interval from the last application to harvest, not a worker-entry interval. Confirm entry requirements separately. No litre or tank recipe is supplied.
How to Apply: Best Practices
- Identify the crop and weeds: Match the crop, planting method and target weeds to the supplied label. Select the complete programme before measuring product or water.
- Respect the first-use window: Follow the separate cotton, onion, pigeon pea and soybean timing above. A general “after sowing” statement cannot replace the crop-specific method.
- Calibrate the equipment: Use a knapsack or foot sprayer fitted with a flat-fan or flood-jet nozzle for the labelled spray use. Measure the area and maintain even coverage without gaps or excessive overlap.
- Keep soil placement correct: For soybean pre-plant incorporation, mix into the top 2–5 cm with suitable farm equipment. Do not extend that depth or method to other crops without their directions.
- Use it alone: AgroStar specifies that Perpendi should be sprayed as a single chemical. Do not add another pesticide or use an undefined per-pump mixture.
- Avoid disturbing the treated area: Plan spray passes so you do not walk across the treated soil. Follow the exact crop’s irrigation and soil-management directions rather than a universal irrigation timetable.
- Protect water and fish: Do not use near water bodies, aquaculture or pisciculture. Do not use in rice fields where fish farming or aquaculture is practised alongside rice cultivation.
- Keep the crop’s harvest interval: Maintain the PHI in the matching programme. Keep people away from treatment and confirm the supplied-label worker-entry requirements; a blank interval is not zero.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is Perpendi 30% EC interchangeable with Perpendi Xtra 38.7% CS?
No. They have different concentrations and formulations, with different crop directions and harvest intervals. Do not substitute one product volume for the other. Both are HRAC Group 3, so the change is not a mode-of-action rotation.
2. Does one acre use the same quantity in every crop?
No. Use the complete crop-specific row and timing. The supplied-label range must be selected for the actual field situation with crop-specific advice; the pack size is not an acre or tank dose.
3. Can I spray after weeds are established?
The listed uses are pre-emergence programmes. Do not treat a late application as equivalent to treatment before weeds emerge, or increase the dose to compensate for missing the timing window.
4. Can I mix Perpendi with another pesticide?
AgroStar specifies use as a single chemical. Do not add a tank-mix partner or convert a general pump instruction into a universal recipe.
5. Can I use it in rice fields with fish farming?
No. The leaflet excludes areas where aquaculture or pisciculture is practised with rice. It also warns against use near water bodies, aquaculture or pisciculture.
Safety & Disclaimer
Before you use it: Read the supplied Perpendi 30% EC label and leaflet. Use only on specified crops and weeds, with the matching application method, first timing, product, water and harvest interval. Do not replace these directions with those for Perpendi Xtra 38.7% CS.
Toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not use near water bodies, aquaculture or pisciculture, or in rice cultivation combined with fish farming. Prevent spray, runoff, spills and washings from entering drains, streams or other water bodies.
Wear full protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves and eye or face protection while mixing and spraying. Avoid contact with mouth, eyes and skin and avoid breathing spray mist. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.
After exposure, seek medical attention and show the container, label or safety data sheet. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting or give liquids by mouth. Give nothing by mouth to an unconscious person. Move an inhalation casualty to fresh air; remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with soap and water. Rinse exposed eyes thoroughly with clean water.
Store tightly closed in the original container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated, locked place away from children, animals, food, feed, direct sunlight, fire and sparks. Do not reuse empty containers; follow the supplied-label disposal directions and local waste rules. Field performance depends on correct use and conditions, and no claim overrides the label.
