Item description

Mandoz Fungicide by AgroStar | 500 g

Mandoz is a systemic and contact wettable-powder fungicide containing mancozeb and carbendazim. Its directions vary by crop, disease and application route. This listing is the 500 g pack.

What it controls: The crop-specific leaf spots, blights, mildews, rots and other diseases listed below, including a separate groundnut seed-treatment use.

When to use it: For foliar use, apply immediately when disease symptoms appear. Seed treatment has separate directions; do not use foliar timing for seed dressing.

What to include: Match the crop, disease and route with the correct product quantity, water, timing, harvest interval and current local restrictions.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🎯  Systemic and contact activity: Combines carbendazim and mancozeb in one fungicide.
  • 🌿  Crop-specific disease coverage: Separate label directions cover the diseases shown in the target table.
  • 🔬  Distinct active ingredients: Mancozeb has multisite activity; carbendazim is an MBC fungicide.
  • 💧  Wettable-powder formulation: Mix the measured WP product into water for the specified foliar application.

How It Works: Mode of Action

Mandoz combines systemic and contact fungicidal activity. These properties do not make it a universal treatment for every plant disease.

  1. Mancozeb: FRAC M03: A dithiocarbamate with multisite contact activity.
  2. Carbendazim: FRAC 1: An MBC fungicide that interferes with tubulin polymerisation and fungal cell division.
  3. Use the correct route: Foliar spraying and groundnut seed dressing are different applications. Do not transfer a foliar rate to seeds or use the mixture for unlabelled drenches or dips.

Carbendazim has a high resistance risk. Plan disease management and rotations with a local agronomist using both FRAC groups. A different brand name alone does not provide a different mode of action.

Target Crops & Diseases

Match each crop and route to its specific directions. Do not use Mandoz on guava, jowar or tapioca. Check applicable state, crop, seasonal and export-market restrictions before use.

Dosage & Application Guide

Foliar rows retain the original label basis and approximate acre equivalents where area-based. Orchard concentrations are not fixed product-per-acre rates. Grape and mango share one dosage row because their concentration, canopy-water basis and harvest interval match.

First foliar application: spray immediately when disease symptoms appear, using a high-volume sprayer such as a knapsack sprayer. The product and water in each row belong together. Do not apply the foliar symptom trigger to seed dressing.

Acre values are approximate hectare conversions. For apple, grape and mango, the label sets spray water according to canopy rather than a fixed hectare amount. Keep their concentration basis; do not invent a fixed acreage yield or per-tank quantity.

PHI is the interval between the last foliar application and harvest. Follow each crop’s value, including 57 days for paddy and 72 days for groundnut foliar use. The seed-dressing entry is not a zero-day harvest interval.

Use the current label for repeat treatment and worker entry. A claim about duration of effect is not a repeat-spray interval, and a dash in the re-entry column is not permission for immediate entry.

Groundnut seed-treatment application requirements: confirm the complete directions for product-to-seed quantity, preparation and first-treatment timing before use. The foliar table does not provide a seed recipe. Keep treated seed separate from food and animal feed.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Confirm the diagnosis: Identify the crop and disease and check current label and local restrictions before choosing the foliar or seed route.
  • Prepare the spray: Use the recommended product and water quantities. Mix the suspension thoroughly with a wooden stick before spraying; never use bare hands.
  • Apply with suitable equipment: Use a high-volume sprayer, such as a knapsack sprayer, for foliar treatment. Calibrate for even coverage and the specified spray volume.
  • Time the first foliar spray: Apply when disease symptoms first appear. Obtain crop-specific guidance for any repeat treatment rather than assuming a fixed weekly schedule.
  • Check mixtures: Do not interpret broad compatibility wording as permission for every tank mix. Follow both labels and confirm the proposed partner with product-specific guidance.
  • Protect workers and harvest: Wear the required protection, prevent drift and keep unprotected people away. Keep the crop-specific harvest interval and follow current entry directions.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Mandoz a single-active mancozeb or carbendazim product?
No. It contains mancozeb 63% + carbendazim 12% WP. Rates and directions for single-active products or other mixture strengths are not interchangeable.
2. Can I use one rate on all listed crops?
No. Rates, spray-water volumes and harvest intervals differ. Some orchard uses are concentration-based, while many field-crop uses are area-based. Use the complete matching row.
3. Is a 500 g pack a fixed tank or one-acre dose?
No. 500 g is the pack quantity. Measure the treatment area or follow the labelled concentration and canopy-water basis, as applicable. Do not empty a pack into a tank merely because it is one package.
4. When do I start spraying, and should I repeat every seven days?
Start foliar spraying when disease symptoms appear. Do not turn a duration-of-effect statement into an automatic weekly schedule. Follow the current label and crop-specific advice for repeats.
5. Can the foliar directions be used for groundnut seed treatment?
No. Seed treatment uses a separate seed-weight-based programme. Confirm its complete preparation and timing instructions, and keep treated seed out of food and feed.

Safety & Disclaimer

Before you use it: Read the current supplied label and leaflet. Match the crop, disease, route, product quantity, water, first-application timing, harvest interval and restrictions. This overview does not replace the label or authenticate an individual pack.

Do not use this mancozeb-containing product on guava, jowar or tapioca. Follow any additional state or seasonal restrictions, including those for Basmati rice, and destination-market residue requirements. A label listing is not clearance for every location or export programme.

Wear full protective clothing, including long sleeves, long trousers, chemical-resistant gloves, shoes or boots, goggles, suitable head protection and the respiratory protection required by the label and safety data sheet. Avoid breathing dust or spray mist and avoid skin, eye and mouth contact. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.

The safety data sheet warns of allergic skin reactions, eye irritation and organ damage from prolonged or repeated exposure. Mandoz is very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Prevent drift, spills and washings from reaching ponds, drains or waterways. Keep children, animals and unprotected people away.

Store tightly closed in the original container in a cool, dry, ventilated and locked place, away from sunlight, heat, ignition sources, food and animal feed. Do not reuse packaging. Dispose of unused product, washings and packaging according to the current label and local authorised requirements without polluting soil or water.

If exposure or illness occurs, stop work and seek urgent medical or poison-centre advice with the container, label or safety data sheet. Do not induce vomiting unless a medical professional directs you to. Rinse contaminated eyes with clean water, wash exposed skin and remove contaminated clothing.
