Item description

Dyna Shield Insecticide by AgroStar | 100 g

Dyna Shield is a systemic insecticide containing dinotefuran 20% SG. It is used as a foliar spray for the listed sucking pests in cotton and brown planthopper in paddy. This listing is the 100 g pack.

What it controls: Aphids, jassids, thrips and whitefly in cotton; brown planthopper in paddy.

When to use it: Apply when the first pest incidence is observed, following the crop-specific programme.

What to include: The measured water-soluble granules and matching water volume, with the correct harvest and worker-entry intervals.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🎯  Crop-specific pest coverage: Targets four listed sucking pests in cotton and brown planthopper in paddy.
  • 🌿  Systemic activity: Dinotefuran is taken up and moved within treated plants.
  • 🍃  Translaminar movement: AgroStar also describes movement through leaf tissue, supporting treatment of the labelled pests.
  • 💧  Water-soluble granules: The SG formulation is mixed with water for foliar spraying, using the measured crop-specific product rate.

How It Works: Mode of Action

Dyna Shield contains one insecticidal active ingredient: dinotefuran. Plant movement and its effect on the insect nervous system explain how the product works.

  1. Plant uptake: The systemic active ingredient is absorbed and moved within the treated plant.
  2. Movement across leaves: AgroStar describes translaminar activity, meaning movement through treated leaf tissue. Good spray coverage is still important.
  3. Nerve-system action: IRAC 4A: Dinotefuran acts on insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and disrupts normal nerve signalling.

Use IRAC group numbers when planning resistance management with your agronomist. Dimitron also contains dinotefuran, so switching to it is not a complete change away from Group 4A.

Target Crops & Pests

Keep each crop and target set paired with the matching rate, water, foliar method, timing and harvest interval below. Use only on crops and pests specified by the supplied label.

Dosage & Application Guide

Use the complete crop programme, not the pack size, to plan treatment. The table gives product weight, spray water and the pre-harvest interval (PHI).

Apply as a foliar spray at the first observed pest incidence. Keep cotton’s four target pests and paddy’s brown planthopper paired with their own crop rate and harvest interval.

Acre quantities are approximate conversions; the original hectare rates are retained above. These are product quantities, not active-ingredient quantities. The ranges are not instructions to exceed the upper rate.

Worker re-entry is 24 hours after each application for both crops. PHI is a separate interval from the last spray to harvest: 15 days for cotton and 21 days for paddy.

Repeat application only as necessary under the supplied-label directions and pest situation. Do not assume a fixed spray interval, unlimited repeat use or a universal per-litre or per-pump dilution.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Identify the crop and pest: Match cotton aphids, jassids, thrips or whitefly to the cotton programme; match paddy brown planthopper to the paddy programme.
  • Start at first incidence: Monitor the crop and apply when the first pest incidence is seen. Further treatment depends on need and the current supplied label, not an invented calendar schedule.
  • Measure product and water: Choose the rate for the crop and measured area. Weigh the SG granules accurately; pack size is not a spray-tank dose.
  • Mix in stages: Add the measured product to a small quantity of water and mix thoroughly. Add the remaining water while stirring vigorously, as the leaflet directs.
  • Spray evenly: Use foliar application and distribute the matched water volume over the treatment area. Avoid breathing spray mist and do not spray against the wind.
  • Do not spray when honey bees are active: Protect pollinators and keep spray, spills and equipment washings away from water sources.
  • Check the exact mixture: AgroStar describes compatibility with commonly used fungicides. Confirm the particular partner, crop, rates and both supplied labels before mixing; this is not approval for every tank mix.
  • Keep people and harvest timing separate: Allow 24 hours before worker re-entry. Keep the last spray at least 15 days before cotton harvest or 21 days before paddy harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Dyna Shield have the same dose in cotton and paddy?
No. Cotton uses 125–150 g/ha, approximately 50.6–60.7 g/acre; paddy uses 150–200 g/ha, approximately 60.7–80.9 g/acre. Both use 500 L water/ha, approximately 202 L/acre. Keep each crop’s pests and PHI with that programme.

2. Which cotton pests are included?
The leaflet lists aphids, jassids, thrips and whitefly in cotton. The separate paddy recommendation is for brown planthopper. Do not extend the cotton pest list to paddy.

3. Is the 100 g pack a fixed tank or acre dose?
No. The 100 g pack is the sale quantity. Choose the required weight from the crop programme and measured treatment area. Do not convert the pack into a standard pump dose.

4. How long should I wait for worker entry and harvest?
Worker re-entry is 24 hours after each application for cotton and paddy. Harvest must wait 15 days after the last spray in cotton and 21 days in paddy. These are different requirements.

5. Can I mix it with fungicides or use it instead of Dimitron?
AgroStar describes compatibility with commonly used fungicides, but check the exact partner and both labels first. Dyna Shield is not Dimitron: the latter also contains pymetrozine and has a different formulation and programme. Do not exchange their doses.

Safety & Disclaimer

Before you use it: Read the current supplied pack label and leaflet. Match the crop, target, formulation, product rate, water, method, timing, harvest interval and all restrictions. Use only as directed for agricultural use. This overview does not replace the supplied label or authenticate an individual pack.

Wear the protective clothing required by the label, including suitable gloves, boots and eye or face protection. Avoid breathing dust or spray mist and avoid contact with the mouth, skin and eyes. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling. Wash exposed skin and clean contaminated clothing after use. Keep children, animals and unprotected people away.

Do not spray Dyna Shield when honey bees are active. Keep product, spray drift, spills and washings out of drains, ponds, streams and other water sources. Keep the original container tightly closed in a cool, dry, ventilated, locked place, separate from food, animal feed and their containers.

Do not reuse empty packaging. Dispose of unused product, washings and containers according to the current label and local authorised requirements without polluting soil or water. If exposure or illness occurs, stop work, seek urgent medical help and show the container, label or safety data sheet. Do not induce vomiting.
